I wonder what else they can dream up to waste our money on in these affluent times when we all have wads of spare cash spilling out of our pockets.Well I suppose it doesn't really matter anymore about working out how to claw back 300 billion spent on a pandemic as long as your plod cars look pretty

We have the police attempting to reach out to LGBT communities (and show support), then the Surrey PCC undermining it in the Daily Mail:

"Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey launches blistering attack on Stonewall for promoting 'dangerous transgender ideology that threatens the safety of our women and girls'"

absolutely - that's a potential career killer. Good on her, hope that more say the same rather than worry about what's flavour of the month at the moment

It's probably due to lack of resources- that's the usual explanation.

Not really a career killer - she's on a £70k+ job for 4 years, can't be fired, and can't be recalled by the electorate.

Do you actually think that a partial wrap, little more than a large sticker, costs anything other than an insignificant amount.

If it stops one hateful crime and an afternoon of an officer's time it will pay for itself. If it stops a one child having a tramatic experience, it's priceless.

We have huge problems with LGBT issues, and within reason and publicity of this is good. Get over yourself.

Considering how it will be procured using ‘approved’ suppliers, and probably has to meet all sorts of applicable standards for police livery, I suspect it will be far from insignificant.

Money better spent funding frontline police officers.

All this does is confirm my belief that the police are not really about law enforcement in the traditional sense anymore; they’re just social workers in stab vests and uniforms.

TBF £750 a pop really isn't the end of the world in absolute terms. Making your cars (i know, only 2 of them) look like a 4 year old went wild with their crayons is, however, pretty pathetic
