Crushed M3 estate, court case?

sorry yes another thread about it.

there's a few Reference's/comments stating that the courts ordered the police to return the car after it was crushed? and there was an compensation settlement? is there any way to fact check that or access the court reports i've not managed to find anything?

surly the police wouldn't have crushed it without the courts blessing so was it appealed ?
