Section 21 in Wales

Here in Wales do we still have to give 6 months notice when issuing a section 21.
The tenancy agreement was issued on the 7th day of the month,do we issue the notice on the 7th or before.

Yes, it was extended to the end of Dec on the 23 Sep.
