Been watching Auditers on youtube, who basically go out to test police on what things can be done legally.

Couple of times arrested, cases took over a year to get to court, yet the police never bothered to turn up to court so the cases are dropped dismissed. They also didn't prepare any evidence.

Why do they arrest in the first place and doesnt it open them up to civil claims?

Have you got any examples? probably just do it to inconvenience them. Loads jumping on the 'auditing' bandwagon now who are just loud mouthed chavs looking for an argument in an attempt to get views. The only one I've seen that is intelligent and presents a good argument is 'Focus Pocus'.

They arrest because they are ignorant of the nuances of the law. They don't show up, I suspect, because they are worried they will lose and get torn a new one by the judge. Is this the UK? I would have thought the CPS would put them straight but I won't be surprised if the police officer lies in his report to cover his abuse of power.
I think alot of these cases the police just go throuigh the motions to annoy and use up the time and money of the auditors. Often their fragile ego is at stake.

As far as civil claims go it would take a lot of money to make one and probably get kicked into the long grass. It's not the officers money so they don't care.

In the USA an auditor called Long Island Audit has have the book thrown at him by the DA in Danbury Conneticut. It's clear nothing will come of it, he has clear evidence of being assulted and police colluding with witnesses but for him to turn several charges being levied at him into a civil case in his favour it is going to take him 10's of thousands of dollars and a lot of time. The DA is just messing with him out of spite, worst case it's just tax payers money right? Ego is big with these people.

For the auditors it creates content and views but also money. Overall exposing the corruption, foolishness and waste of public servant is very interesting and worthwhile too.

Do you have links for the ones you are watching? The only UK one I have seen is Auditing Britain

I wont provide links, but they are youtube.

One called an inspector a ''sausage''

the others raided a test Centre.

Both cases dropped because the police didnt turn up.

One auditor is a career criminal, 2019 him and his GF wanted for shoplifting with photos of them in the paper.

I think most of them are ex criminals

Most auditors are just out to cause trouble and a deliberate confrontation for youtube hits. Should make it an offence as its not real "audtiting" of the justice system, just winding people up for the sake of it.

Im surprised in the USA some cop hasnt shouted "Audit this" while tasering repeatedly some moronic auditor. LOL. Now that is footage I can laugh at - especially if said cop juices him again when he tries to move or says something stupid.

I know that many auditors have had successful civil claims for things like unlawful detention, unlawful arrest etc.

Tbh the police should be used to this by now and as soon as they have established they are dealing with an 'auditor' out to get a reaction (which shouldn't take long) they should simply walk away.

Ignore them and they don't have a video. Give them a hard time, even if the police have zero entitlement to, then it creates epic content. The fact that so many of these auditors have so many videos suggests the police in the UK and US have a serious problem with understanding their powers and the law (not to mention some massive egos)

I just watched a Focus Pocus video where a detective demands his ID under S44 of the Terroism act. Many lols follow as the auditor points out that was repealed in 2012. Same photographer was "detained" by a PSCO, she actually said that. Amazing.

One of the frustrations with auditors is they frequently don't demonstrate that they have followed up with a complaint and/or a civil claim. They are happy to take donations for "legal fees" but there is precious little evidence of any results which leads to the suspicion they are just doing the whole thing to make money, not to expose and punish corruption and misuse of power.
Auditing Britain did follow up on one occasion and was granted £1600 in a settlement, he them made a video of him passing out the money to local homeless/alcoholic/junkie population in the environs of the police station.

The police can't simply not show up, what's probably happening is that the officers have no idea they're supposed to be there as they've not been warned by the CJU that they're needed in court.

two different cases, i don't buy that. the court case was over a year from 1st arrest, and some pertinent evidence hadn't been given to the CPS as well, youtube videos etc. There weren't complicated cases.

I'm not arguing the complexity of a case, the police don't set the dates, the police don't call the witness's, the police don't decide where the case is going to be heard. The police get warned just like any other witness and they have to attend. If they don't the they're fully in the st.

Hey, what do I know though, I've only been doing it for 15 years so you probably know better after watching a bit of YouTube.

This is SP+L.
Having just ventured into it for the first time in a while, I see the content hasn't changed.
You Tube lunatics along with their fans are now the gospel on the court system.
I wish I knew I could choose to attend court or not. It would have saved me many hours sitting waiting for benefit sucking chavs to turn up after they've had their most recent shot of the latest fave drug.
But You Tube innit.

Exactly, imagine all the rest days that wouldn't have been ruined by being warned to court on your day off, only to sit about for 8 hours before being told you're no longer needed.

So if an officer is well in the st for not attending court does that mean someone at the CJU will be well in the st for not informing an officer they are due in court?

Yes but it won't be anywhere near as severe as an officer deciding not to attend a case they're warned for.

If a police officer is warned for court and doesn't show up some other officers will attend their home address and get them to court. They'll then have to explain to the courts why they didn't go and then be subject to disciplinary action. It's just not worth not turning up!

If the CPS intend to drop it at court they probably won't send warnings for the officers to attend.

Yes just suprised. Is there not a process to drop before court? These people are on bail, had their equipment confiscated for a year. The system seems a bit petty really if there was never going to be a court case.

Really? Please enlighten us with a source link, must be easy to find a successful claim case online if there are many of them

That looks like a purely financial decision on their part.
No admission of liability, for a very small sum compared to what they'd be paying in costs even if they successfully defended it.
Whilst he seems happy to take the small sum, without any requirement for admission on their part & a little bit of advertising for his clickbait channel.
