Ultralyte 1000 Calibration Certificate not covering distance

Hi,
Recieved a NIP for speeding in a 30mph limit and included was a link to view the Calibration Certificate of the machine used.
The certificate shows it was calibrated at 25m, 75m, 100m, 125m, 150m all passing.
The photograph of me driving supplied shows me at a distance of 243.2m from the camera.
Thoughts please would be appreciated,

My guess would be that if it works at 25/50/75/100m then it probably works at 250m.
That’s not the distance it’s calibrated at, those are the 3 marker points that it must measure accurately to prove one aspect of its performance.
These are accurate to 1mph at 1000metres and the certificate is probably from tele-traffic and should certify conformity.
This is a dead end defence, they have proof from a home office approved machine, what do you have?

If you were speeding just take it on the chin, it's not the end of the world it's just part of life. Fortunately for my last lapse I got a course.

With measuring devices there’s a tolerance. Even if the measuring device take an inaccurate reading, the error is only going to be + or - of a small percentage. Say accurate to within 2%

Basically if you get caught doing 45mph in a 30. Even if the device is wrong, you’re still driving way faster than the tolerance. To say its out by 50% when it has a tolerance of 2% is unrealistic.

You sound a bit desperate, just take what's coming to you if you were speeding, which to be honest seems the most likely reality.
I may have been clocked by a speed van in Devon on a motorway gantry last Saturday, hopefully just within the range for 3 points and a fine. Hopefully nothing will come through, but if it does I'll pay up and take the hit.

Well you can have your very own calibration methodology. Sadly it's just yours and not what the home office has set out.

So what if you calibrated it at 1000m and 50m, and the OP was at 100m? You are assuming that the meter works in a linear way. If so then the same works for 100m vs 250m

If it's calibrated a particular way then it's because the manufacturer, the home office agree that's what is sufficient.
If it was an issue there would already be challenges.
"The Road Traffic Offenders’ Act 1988 allows for the Type Approval of devices to be used for the detection of the speed of motor vehicles ... Calibration of equipment is not a condition of Type Approval within the meaning of section 20(4) of the Road Traffic Offenders’ Act and, therefore, failure to prove calibration does not affect the admissibility of evidence. While it is not a condition, it is recommended that calibration is performed on an annual basis as normal routine maintenance of the device."
As mentioned above, as part of the Type Approval process, the Ultralyte 1000 was tested at a maximum range 454 metres. The manufacturer says the maximum range of the aforementioned speedmeter is 1000 metres.
In OP's case, the (recommended) annual calibration tested the device at distances of 25-150 metres. His vehicle was 243 metres from the speedmeter. 243 metres is well within the maximum range tested as part of the Type Approval process.
