not for a motoring offence, just general legal advice but is car related
Give citizens advice a call.A free service for consumers, and my recent help from them was very good.
If you have an angle they'll point you to template letters on their website that have all of the correct wording to get a dealers attention.
That is if it's a dealer you're dealing with, and you're a consumer.

Or you could just ask here, get ripped a new one, accused of hiding relevant facts, given totally contradictory advice and then we can all wonder why you have not come back to update us.
Or, you could ask here, only tell half the story, drip feed key information, avoid answering direct questions, get given advice that you don't want to hear because it doesn't support your position and then we are not surprised when you throw your toys out the pram and never come back to the thread again.Camelot1971 said:

any motor legal advisors on here or recommended? need an independent opinion on something
Generally you can share a lot of information without risking your case. There are some lawyers on here who will give guidance but you need to give some more pointers. Is it about a faulty car issue? A dispute over ownership? Speeding? etc

did a private track day of sorts with car club
had a bit of an issue hit a barrier glancing blow
car still drivable. went to collecting area. nobody approached me from club or from track. Remained there for 30mins, then left
thought nothing more, didnt hear anything for around 7-8 weeks. in this time i decided to repair my car independent of insurance (although i had cover)
then suddenly i get a call from club saying i have to pay the track for barrier repair (this is 7 weeks after event).. they have already paid it as the track had to invoice them as the official club organisers. I do know from inside source that they would have been informed of this cost shortly after the event. (within days)
if i had been informed within a reasonable time frame i would have had my car and the barrier repaired under insurance. They have provided me with no explanation for the huge delay in informing me. (i did sign indemnity form accepting possible liability if damage to circuit)
they are also threatening to send debt recovery agency etc
am i right for feeling this is inappropriate after such a delay? im not sure how to proceed although i dont deny the damage etc
