Coventry Eastern Bypass Temporary Works Speed Cameras
Discussion
Does anybody know if these are average speed cameras or not?
Had a lorry up my arse tailgating me along the narrowed road heading west and accelerated to give myself space (just after the petrol station) before the 50mph sign and realised there's a camera post just by the 50mph sign. I was already doing 50 long before I hit the sign so I'm expecting a letter any day now if that camera is not average.

yeah it's average 40 until past the petrol station then i think reverts to 50 at the perm signs. I think there is a further 40 camera (average) inbetween the petrol station and the 50 though
Yes there is but it's not the usual style of camera with one per lane, as I recall. I think it's a single camera on the central reservation? So you could be forgiven for not realising the lane was still being monitored right up to where goes to 50.OP I think you might be ok, depending when you started to accelerate. You'd need to do an average over the whole distance of >46mph true speed to get nabbed, which is likely to be 48mph plus on your speedo, and you'd need to be doing that for at least the whole distance from the second-last camera to the last one.

I drove past it again and that second to last one I believe is on the left hand side (last one being on the central reservation).OP I think you might be ok, depending when you started to accelerate. That lorry was so close up my arse that I am almost sure that the second to last camera won't even have the change to read my plates. (Assuming its a rear facing one? And the last camera being a front facing one?) I could be wrong.
I'll report back in 14 days if I get anything back. Would be annoying if I do.
Thanks all for your inputs
