I've searched for these and can't find anything recently.

From the off I don't have time to mess about with this so will be paying it whilst it's cheaper as I am bang to rights (I think) but just wondered what the Powerfully built on here would do.

There is a Shell Garage at the airport that I used for pickup/drop off and got pinged on the pickup as I overstayed the 20 minute max as stated by the signage 'clearly' visible when you enter the car park as their letter advises me.

I did purchase items in the shop if it makes any difference albeit not fuel.

Are Euro Car parks a one to file or do they tend to chase these day's? I really can't be bothered with the hassle so will pay as I did over stay the 20 mins but wondered what the PH collective would do in the same situation.

Shell garage at the airport you say?

Clearly visible signage you say?

Scratching my head why they’d have a max-time-allowed stipulation wink

Powerfully built is never bang to rights

I have a right to… bang?

Ok. Not there unfortunately but there's one or two down south 'signed' as service areas which should offer 2 hrs free parking or technically the signing should come down off the trunk road.

signs are usually written in such a way that they're not enforceable or no contract has actually been formed. most parking management companies rely on folks assuming it will cost them lots to defend it and just coughing up.

Not quite true, though there are usually lots of reasons that these tickets can't be enforced. I'm 3-0 up with private parking tickets being cancelled (none mine, all won on basic points that were nothing to do with whether T&C's had been breached) long before it got as far as court. Anyone paying them has more money than sense, IMO. There's tons of good advice on other websites but as ever many posters on PH are more interested in scoring cheap points off the OP and being a bit of a smart-arse than actually helping.

You’ve already stated that you can’t be bothered with the hassle and will just pay so why are you on here asking for advice?

Just pay it and live your life.

Given that so few people seem to challenge Local Authority fines I sometimes wonder why the PPCs don't just copy their signage.

Which part of my OP is asking for advice? I simply asked what the collective would do in the same situation. It's my first ever 'fine'/Invoice. I'm merely curious.

I'd pay it - it sounds like it was my own fault.

I wouldnt pay out of principle. These private companies are just cowboys who scam naive people.

Where I lived there's a main road with a retail park either side. with a big 4-way junction and a blatant pedestrian crossing inbetween the 2. Once I parked in one retail park and walked across. A few days later I got a letter through the post asking for £100 because "I was seen to leave the carpark"

WTF ! These companies are literally making up their own rules to get money out of people. Do they honestly expect me to drive from one side of the road to the other?

They even send it in official looking letters. To trick you into thinking its a real fine.

I wouldnt mind if the carpark was full, but I counted the spaces on Google Maps and lost count at 450. Its never more than half full and theres always plenty of spaces. Theyre not providing a service but trying to scam a quick buck for themselves.

These carparking cowboys are who the police and legal system should be investigating

I sometimes agree but in this case it is easier to see how the company might have lost revenue, however small with a shop parking space being used up.

What money have Euro Car Parks lost?

Also the OP purchased items so effectively they gained revenue.

I think that She'll garage at Newcastle Airport is within the confines of byelaws therefore the enforcement of "parking" and "stopping" are very much in the grey area. Hoy your circumstances on MSE private parking forum or pepipoo
