Will I get a NIP for this scenario
Discussion
They normally operate looking through the sides or back of the van, so as long as the front of the van vas facing you as you approached, you should be safe. Not so much if the van was parked so that either side was towards you. But I wouldn't worry too much - what's done is done and worrying won't change the outcome of the situation. If you are the registered keeper and the DLVA have the correct address, then you only have 14 days to wait for a notice of intended prosecution. If you don't get one within 14 days of the offence, then you should be off the hook. If the registered keeper is a hire or leasing company, or the address is incorrect, then it's not quite so simple.

Nope already did one after accepting I did 4 over the threshold in a 40 zone earlier this year...then I found out after the camera was faulty & anyone not already accepted their fate was let off. But no way to get that back if you signed the declaration & sent it back & attended the course. !
This meant I then got a NIP for 82 in a 70 in the summer from a mobile van almost a mile away. As I had already done the course got 3 points then so now I expect a ban unless they want to keep me on the road to pay more fuel tax & NIP's...although I can prove financial hardship if banned as my job would be impacted not sure they are bothered about that are they! Its all a money making exercise they should try catching really dangerous drivers like the vehicle I saw last sunday morning undertaking up the hard shoulder going well beyond NSL! or the constant DUI stream of unsafe drivers travelling at insane speeds!!
Which area Motorway was this?, it may be he was targeting the other carriageway. This meant I then got a NIP for 82 in a 70 in the summer from a mobile van almost a mile away. If you’re not bothered then why should a Court be?You’ll be OK by the way. But if getting caught is going to stress you like this then maybe slow down. I got caught by a hidden mobile camera operator and that slowed me down as it made me realise I could get knabbed every time I drove.

M40 they keep putting mobile camera vans in hard to spot places so you only see them when its way too late to react ...its actually dangerous as well as drivers brake hard if they spot it ....what could possibly go wrong on a long wide open straight section of flat 3 lanes either side motorway.............! other vehicles were going way faster than me as well.....!
My fault I know I accept that a ban is coming my way but its just a money making scheme nothing to do with safety at all!
If I braked as hard as I could instead of looking in my rear mirror first the vehicles behind would have had to react to that sharply & my speed would have dropped way below the ban threshold but I also would have caused potentially a pile up behind as the entire lane was moving similar high speeds.
I know were your coming from , speeding today is like Drink Driving of yesteryear, it's hated but the "do gooders".My fault I know I accept that a ban is coming my way but its just a money making scheme nothing to do with safety at all!
