So couple times in the last few weeks Iv been on the motorways and come to roadworks with the temporary roadwork speed limit signs up at the side of the road saying ‘50’ but then few 100 yards later the over head ‘smart’ motorway gantry is saying ‘60’ and then you go past one or the other till the end of the roadworks ‘50’ signs.
Iv been in the truck so won’t be near 60 anyways but just curious how that would fly if you got pulled for doing over 50 say?
Iv also seen roadwork ‘50’ signs but gantrys at ‘40’.
Obviously the sensible answer is keep to the lower limit, but as this is PH powerfully built stomping ground then the answer is stay at 99mph cruise to avoid a ban but keep maximum average speed.

Who says it wont be the higher one of the two? Reality is until someone can say they have been done at a speed between the two we dont know what speed limit will be enforced. Even if the lower one is enforced and tickets are issued there then comes the question as to what happens if it is challenged.

"As a rule" - will always go by the "live" matrix display. This to me seems to be the most upto date and "real" information at Highways disposal.

- amber font/text versus white - what is the difference and why amber versus white?
- when "40" displayed across all lanes and I am in L1 or live running HS......why do I feel vulnerable as the slowest vehicle on the road?
