Getting owed wages.
Discussion
Il try and keep this as simple as possible but basically I left a company in September and in my last pay packet they only payed me half my basic wage.
I had worked the full months cut offs from august to September and had my last day on the final day of cut off so as to get a full months pay with no odd days hanging about etc.
I received all my extras like overtime, night premiums, owed holiday pay etc for the full month, but for some reason only payed half my basic salary, so down around £1500.
I brought this up as soon as I had noticed to be told it might be in the next month October’s pay wait and see, it’s wasn’t. And now Iv been ringing up HR almost weekly and they keep saying the same ‘oh yes Iv sent the emails to pay role waiting to here back etc etc’ but nothings changed and it’s been over 3 months now and have still received no money or explanation of what’s going on.
The job was hgv driving for Waitrose (4 years) then we got sold out to xpo about 3 months before I left so both big multi million pound company’s not a small family business.
Is there any way I can take this further or down a legal route as it’s getting a bit ridiculous now and nearly going into a new year etc,
Any advice much appreciated,

I would have said put a claim in to an Employment Tribunal, but unfortunately you only have the ridiculously short time of 3 months in which to do so.
However, an equally simple remedy is to use the small claims court, known as Money Claim Online - https://www.gov.uk/make-money-claim It's quite straightforward, and fairly effective. The chances are they will pay once they get the Claim Form from the court.
Strictly speaking you should really send them a letter / email setting out your claim and giving them, say, 7 days to cough up. The letter should say that in the absence of payment you'll issue a court claim. But with this type of claim it's no big deal if you don't.
