If you receive a speeding ticket whilst you have 9 points but In the time aloud to reply to the letter 6 points will come off, would you still receive a ban as at the time of the offense you already had 9 points?

Unless disqualified, endorsements for speeding offences stay on your driving record for four years from the offence date. They 'expire' three years from offence date and are 'removed' four years from the offence date.

A person is liable to be disqualified from driving if he accrues 12 or more relevant penalty points. Relevant penalty points are for offences committed within a three year period. If the aforementioned offences were committed within a three year period then it does not matter if some or all of those offences are now 'expired' or have been 'removed.'

The relevant minimum disqualification period is 6 months. The court can reduce or avoid the minimum disqualification period if there are grounds for mitigating the normal consequences of conviction - commonly known as 'exceptional hardship.'

That's true enough, but 15 thou could easily be counted as a correct answer also.

No need to dwell on it...
