Hi
My son was driving last night about 530 until 630 and when he finished his journey he got out of the car and noticed his lights hadn't been on. He may have subconsciously turned it off before he got out of the car but he's not 100% as it was light when he set off.
He's now unsure if he will get a fine through the post as he did a small part of the journey on the motorway or would this have to be down to being stoppped by the police? Not sure if cameras can issue a fine for this? Eitherway it's a lesson learnt for him.
Cheers

Yes, he will have eleventy-seven points added to his dog licence...if he doesn't have a dog, then it will be added to the TV licence.

This is just in case you didn't realise the previous posts were also wind-ups

But then he'd have to buy a used dog licence too!

what were saying is acquire a dog , then fill its name out in that of your son , when asked for the licence you send in the dog licence instead

It's a wind up. No points etc.

Although the amount of cars you see these days with just rear lights, or just driving lights, because they've turned the lights switch to the first position. Most people have them on auto and rely on the car to turn everything on for them.

Might be worth checking he actually knows what the controls do in his car. There will be an indicator on the dash showing his lights are on.

He is aware but he thinks with it being light he hasn't switched it on as he set off. He's also convinced he's had them on as when he was on the motorway the truck behind him would have flashed or beeped. Its no excuse and he's lucky nobody's hurt and hopefully a lesson learnt for him

Your son won't get done unless he was stopped by plod. Stop worrying, ignore the pisstakers.

I've done it.

I bet all the pisstakers on here have done it but they'd never admit it, as the PH Hivemind code is to never admit you're not perfect.

6.30 is not exactly night time is it.
You're worrying over nothing, plenty drive with no headlights in thick fog, heavy rain or any other reason for reduced visibility and don't get pulled
