Hello,
On the a37 hengrove lane junction in bristol there is a red light camera, i executed some amazingly poor judgement and went for an amber which was much too far away, i realized i wasn't going to make it so i applied the anchors fairly hard (not emergency braking just hard. I wound up with my nose just across the line coming to a stop about 0.5 - 1 seconds after the light turned to red, watching back the dashcam footage i definately went over on red, not by much at all but still definately over, does this sound like i'll receive a notice about it or is there a chance the camera may not have detected it.
Thanks,
Zdos123.

Zero chance. You need to be further past and probably later too.

Sure you'll be fine as they aren't set to be that sensitive else there would be too many false positive results.

Just remember that Amber means stop, not floor it and hope you'll make it smile

I don’t think a camera would pick that up, but police observing would. At worst they would only likely have a word. To others observing, it just looks a bit tttish, but tttishness does provoke dash cam posting.

This shows my lapse in judgement, i think i probably subconsiously tried to follow the mini turning left.

It was a severe lapse in judgement, i'm usually overly cautious with traffic lights, pretty much the instant it's amber it's stop but this time apparently it didn't click properly.

Yup i have no idea how sensitive the cameras are, it's obviously not an agregious problem as i put no-one at risk (unless there is a car behind me, which there wasn't), i'm still in my first two years of driving i really can't afford any penalty points, just a sanity check mostly.

Watch out for the knock on the door as im sure our beloved boys in blue will be around to arrest you in due course.

If I was you switch off all the lights and dont answer the door and hide behind the sofa for the next 14 days after which you will be safe

You'll be absolutely fine, I set off loads of red light camera's on a daily basis at work and those won't flash until you're about halfway on that junction, in that yellow markings box.

Is that it? I doubt that would be enough to set a camera off. Dont beat yourself up about it we all make mistakes.

Even if police saw that I doubt they'd care, or even notice.

Frankly, I’m disgusted, horrified and appalled at that. You deserve everything that’s coming to you. Hanging’s too good.

I was on the A3(M) on the 6th and wondered why everyone was travelling so slowly, and then I saw the camera van parked in the layby. eek

Thankfully I could move from behind the sofa this week!
