Bare Metal Colour on V5

[57 Chevy]

I'm currently running my car in lacquered bare metal. It might stay like this for a while or get painted at some point. It was black before.

Should I update the colour on the V5, if so what do I put the colour as?

red roof, so it's multicoloured I believe. My Aygo was red with a black roof and was deemed multicolour

If I did paint it the red roof would stay anyway so that would mean I wouldn't have to change it again.

I have seen ‘Silver’ as the body colour on unpainted Caterhams.

I'd go multicoloured, it then makes it easy - even if you paint it, a blob of colour somewhere keeps it multicoloured

The colour for bare metal (as opposed to lacquered) is "Fiat brown."

Maybe they could go back to 1985 and update the log book

My old Cortina was multi coloured metalflake. No problems with the DVLA registering it as multicoloured.

Run a plate check on a DeLorean. See what colour it’s listed as with the DVLA. There’s your answer.
