Dash Cam Convictions

Having read all the recent guff about people sending in dash cam footage to their local constabulary to convict motorists, I just wondered if anyone had personal experience or knew anyone who had actually been convicted as a result of this?
Not for any other reason than curiosity as I am a bit sceptical as to whether these cases would actually find their way to court. I was on the M180 on Saturday on a completely empty road and there was some moron sat in the outside lane at 60mph (est). My wife said send the footage to the police but it's not in my nature to do such a thing and also I'd be surprised if it actually went anywhere.

Sorry no personal experience but Google suggests that the Police regularly prosecute based on the dashcam evidence that people have sent in.Not for any other reason than curiosity as I am a bit sceptical as to whether these cases would actually find their way to court. Having said that I'd be stunned if they prosecuted anybody doing 60mph in Lane 3.
True I had to attend a what’s driving us course on teams app due to overtaking a cyclist and causing oncoming car to slow down! The course was made up of people that had been “offered up” by public spirited people on bikes, on a horse! And even on buses! The course participant was a epic on duty in a police car texting in traffic! £95 2 hours of fun!! Time to invest in a 2” sq of gaffa tape

As above, depends on speed. You can cross double white lines to pass a bike doing 10mph or less.So in the real world probably on an uphill. 99% of bikes will be over that speed on the flat or downhill.

Op Snap is used by a few forces. Speed is one that they wont look into (although they may if its silly speeds, seem to remember someone doing 90 in a 30 recently and they worked the speed out).
I think its a good thing. If it stops people driving like knobs and driving safer it can't be anything but good.

I often wonder about this. Let's say I whip past a plodder doing 40 in a 60, maybe going a little over 60, if they reported me for overtaking them at speed, would the police investigate?
From what I can gather, they won't unless you are clearly going stupidly fast/driving dangerously.

Just as I'm certain the driver above wasn't prosecuted for crossing the white lines, I suspect too close, or dangerous driving etc.

You're saying this like it wasn't actually 1) your fault or 2) a problem. The HC is pretty clear about your responsibilities when overtaking anything, and forcing an oncoming car to slow down is not part of them.
