Well that was surprisingly easy (PCN Appeal)

Had a parking charge notice drop through the door a couple weeks back... asking for £60 if paid within 14 days otherwise it would be £100.

Anyway - I wasn't the driver so I decided to appeal.

Logged on to their website filled in my personal details and then said why I was not liable for the charge even though I'm the registered keeper of the car.

1. Driver was not me but a friend who was over from Australia for a couple of weeks

2. Driver has returned to Australia, was in Perth but last update was he'd gone to Sydney but I had no address details

3. Attached a screen shot of my Google timeline for the day of the charge which shows I was about 40 miles away for the full 24 hours.

I had an email back from them last Thursday:

Dear Mr SS

Parking Charge Notice Number : TC67958291

Thank you for your recent communication.

I have noted the points you raised and would like to confirm that we are cancelling the Parking Charge Notice.

If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

I was truly surprised that it was cancelled and was expecting a battle ...

Google is a thing I sometimes ask random questions of.

I had to get in touch with this lot, I parked my car from two hours and went back when it was clear I would be out longer and fed the meter again before the original ticket had elapsed.

Then got a charge from them, I queried it as I had paid the parking charge, in fact more than I actually needed to as it turned out.

To be fair, they did send me a letter saying they had cancelled it.

Sounds like you had a PPC agent who got out of bed the right side.

I had 18 PCNs from a PPC and used to keep supermarket, shop or petrol receipts to prove I wasn't there. The PPC only overturned them after intervention from my MP and still claimed their equipment was working fine.

(And before I get accused of being a dinosaur I have very legitimate reasons (medical) for not being able to use one.)
