I returned a parcel to amazon that was faulty they told me to send it and they would reimburse me. I sent it via hermes or Evri as it is now called. That was 16th June, and it is still stuck in their system, they advised the below. I cant get through to Evri their customer service is ste. Amazon wont refund until they have the parcel.

We are currently experiencing issues with all Amazon returns, which is unfortunately causing a lot of delays. This issue is on Amazon's behalf, as they are refusing to accept the returns we have, that do not have Amazon's own returns labels on.

I can confirm that we are currently organising a new process with Amazon so that we can take these parcels to them in bulk. Please allow longer for this item to be delivered back to Amazon.

I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by this delay, I can appreciate how frustrating it must be. I can confirm that while the Amazon return items are on hold in our local depot, all the parcels are pallet wrapped for security.

For any future parcels you wish to return to Amazon, please contact them directly first, so they can provide you with their own label for the parcel to be sent with Evri to the correct returns address.

If you need anything in the meantime, please contact your Evri Customer Service Team and we'll be happy to help.

Have you tried Amazon’s online chat? Whenever I’ve used it they have been super helpful and are very keen to resolve issues. If you have proof of pickup and Evri’s email I’m pretty sure they will sort your refund

I had a similar issue where a suit I returned via Evri (parcel is a problem) got lost, but they eventually refunded me regardless.

It's not your fault so I presume they have 21 days to refund under distance selling laws.

Surely Amazon are legally obligated to accept returns under the Distance Selling regulations regardless of who's label is on the parcel?

Never, ever had a problem with returning stuff to Amazon using their returns service. Drop it at post office, credited within 24hrs as the systems link up.

How much stuff do you send back exactly?

Hermes lost (or more likely stole) my iPhone and did not give two sts. I’ll never use them again.

I had a similar situation

I contacted Amazon via online chat and told them they can see the return package was scanned by Hermes and I had fulfilled my obligation for the return, they agreed and issued the refund.

My last Amazon return I used their label, dropped at a parcel shop and had the refund by the time I got home, I.e. Amazon took responsibility as soon as it was scanned into their couriers system. I think that was Evri.

Did you use Amazons own returns label?

What's that going to do? The problem isn't Evri, it's Amazon. They do this frequently, it's the same with UPS, Amazon have stopped accepting returns that ave not been relabelled at the depots despite having Amazon returns labels on already

If they’re offering free returns then they have the right to attach conditions to the free returns process. Was this a free return?

Had similar issue trying to send an Amazin return with Evri using the label Amazon provided. I got the refund eventually but took a couple of weeks.

I use Evri for sending parcels for my own ebay business and they have been faultless in that respect so its the connection with Evri and Amazon in my experience.

I suspect it could be true as the tie in with Amazon, would mean Evri are probably charging them pennies for the service.
