Amazon returns
Discussion
Hopefully I’ve posted in the right forum, mods please move if otherwise.
Bought a cordless tyre inflator (not sure if I can name the brand?) on Amazon in May.
Used it perhaps 2-3 times and found that the battery does drain quickly, but otherwise works.
Used it yesterday to inflate a ball, and the inflator cut off. Won’t switch on so I charge the battery using the supplied AC adaptor.
Adaptor has power but battery will not charge.
As it’s been 3 months refund option is not available and I cannot find a method of contacting the seller. The brand has a shop but no contact details. Is there anything I can do in this situation? The inflator is £75 so am disappointed it broke after 3 months.

Speak to amazon customer service (via online chat).
They have always been very helpful with returns of faulty goods within 12 months.
Cheers. I’ve tried the customer service link in the Amazon app and it was mentioned that item is not eligible for returns. They have always been very helpful with returns of faulty goods within 12 months.
I will try to search for Amazon online web chat to hopefully speak to a human.

Use the Amazon online chat. They are really helpful and I’ve never failed to get an issue resolved.
If it was a third party seller they may try to put you in touch with them first, but if you get no response then go back to Amazon and they will sort it.
Cheers. Tried various links for Amazon customer service and it keeps linking back to same page. I select the item and tell them it’s faulty , but will be told it’s not eligible for return. Do you happen to have a link I can use?

It’s poor form that they make it so difficult !

Yes, I've tried every link I can find and it's hard to get in touch with a real person.
I'll definitely bookmark the link above!
Years ago it used to be straightforward to return faulty goods. It used to be easy to speak to someone with more than piss poor English too. That's if you can get through to anyone these days. Now they're just making it more and more difficult for customers when something goes wrong. That obviously works for them and their profit margins.I'll definitely bookmark the link above!
I also find it frustrating that they censor a lot of one and two star reviews now. Both when you try and view them, and also when you try and submit them.
Keep up the good work Amazon. I'm less and less inclined to give them my custom.

There's an option on the support page for someone to give you a call immediately. Ok, an automated voice starts speaking when you answer the call, but if you press the correct combination of options/buttons, you do get through to someone, albeit with a strong foreign accent. But the few times I've had to contact them, this option always got the problem resolved.
Good luck.
Amazon customer service is amazing until you deal with them for a 3rd party seller.
Took me 4 months to get a refund for a £25 item.. Which I'm pretty sure the seller refunded on accident.. Amazon themselves were of no help.. After a while I would connect to an agent and watch them disconnect one after the other due to "technical issues" as I assume they saw the notes on the ticket reference and just gave up..
Over the phone one rep told me not to worry about my proof of return because amazon "always believe their customers".. Yet low and behold, the next guy didn't believe I had returned it as the courier no longer had a record on their website (as it had been so long). The screenshot I had couldn't be sent as their generic email address rejects picture attachments...
I literally just gave up any hope I would receive my money back and just stopped using amazon. Haven't used them since January for anything.

In both cases it was for products that were blatantly not as described.
They went against community standards apparently.
Both were to the point and not ranty.

My last review was rejected. It was genuinely 5 star and full of praise. I've been an amazon customer for 21+ years and that's a first for me!In both cases it was for products that were blatantly not as described.
