Touring with a tag
Discussion
For reasons which I won’t go into, one of our small group of riders has been given a tag by the courts.
He has to stay away from a couple of villages near here for the time being.
My question is that we are due to get the ferry to Spain and back in September.
I believe his solicitor needs to talk to the court about this but can anyone tell me if he may still be allowed to travel with our small group please ?
It’s a domestic issue and he’s not a wrong un !

If it is a location tag:

Then maybe he needs to talk to the responsible officer.

Saying "He's on a Tag" isn't too helpful OP, as people have alluded to above there are different tags and many have different conditions attached such as Geo location tags, curfew tags etc.
It needs to be established what type of tag he has, what the conditions are for which he has been tagged and also is it actually possible to be away from his base unit for an extended period which will be installed at whatever address he is residing.
He needs legal advice from his Solicitor and likely a further application to the courts.
His Solicitor may well just advise him that because of the tag foreign travel won't be possible

Has a tag but isn't a wrong 'un
Serious suggestion; check that he can actually get in to Spain too... Like most countries they have restrictions on who can come in, and criminal records are part of that.

"The EU doesn’t have a blanket exclusion policy against British visitors with criminal histories. Currently, most travellers with minor records are allowed to enter countries as normal without disclosing their past offences."
ETIAS doesn't come in until 2023, and even then it will only be for serious offences.
Most licences have this as one of the main conditions:
v) not to travel outside the United Kingdom (for the purposes of this licence United Kingdom includes the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, unless otherwise directed by your supervising officer (which will be given in exceptional circumstances only).

If he has been given a tag then he has obviously committed a crime (even if he isn't a wrong'un!).
Surely the tag is part of his punishment, why should criminals even be allowed to go away on holiday?
A tag can be given on pre trial bail therefore not necessarily guilty of anything Surely the tag is part of his punishment, why should criminals even be allowed to go away on holiday?
