I have a hire car that got a low pressure warning a day after picking it up...yes a nail great (top of sidewall).
It's a slow puncture but at the end of the day I can't risk driving around with it so will be getting it replaced.
I look on this thing and the tyre with the punctures a Conti and the other side is a P7, the fronts are a brand I'd never heard of Autogreen.
Is there any legal rules on using an autogreen on the Conti with the P7 on the other side?
These auto green are only 75 quid a shoe so it's stomachable!

Why aren't you just calling the hire company and telling them, which company is it?

I suppose it’s ridiculous because the vast majority of the population just ask for a cheap tyre and would have no idea what brand it was or what the other tyres on the car were. They are probably right not to be too bothered, as in normal use they won’t notice much difference.However, according to a public information film, at one time you could erroneously mix crossplys and radials on the same axle to make an Austin 1100 go wildly out of control at about 15mph.
The stranger question here is why the OP was considering doing his own repairs on a hire car?

It's ridiculous because if there were a law that said you had to have the same brand across an axle, it would have been mentioned in many posts on the subject on here. The OP is an experienced PH'er
