This popped up on Facebook. Looked tempting but probable scam, it’s been live for a while though.

The wording seems very scammy, and the non Screwfix URL also really looks scammy.

I agree so why has it been live on Facebook for over a day?

Because Facebook doesn't care. I see people being scammed and ripped off every week and they all say the same thing. Facebook doesn't care. I've also reported obvious scams, counterfeit goods and firearms in my UK feed, nothing.

Scammier than a scammy thing. If you doubt it, click the link....

I've reported loads of scams and false advertising to Facebook and they always reply no rules have been broken or words to that effect .
They are as bad as the scammers

Its really not elaborate, it screams scam to me and 5 seconds googling the URL confirms such. Why would a business not use their own URL to run a competition from?

I’ve received that and similar from ‘Currys’ and ‘B&Q’ by email for as long as I can remember.

Never click on email or social media links. At the very least run checks on the URL first.

Agree about emails, take a look in your spam folder you’ll find loads of scam attempts.

This was a Facebook link though that shocked me. I really thought Facebook would have taken it down.

I gave up reporting them, all obvious scams and get that same response.

It doesn’t even look that elaborate, it just screams scam simply because of the wording.

Sometimes they use an external survey company.

It even has the “ classic “ time limited warning.

I thought it was best to assume that everything on Facebook is a scam.

You can't rely on Facebook (or any other social media websites, even this one) to keep you safe from scam adverts etc. Even if they do actively take things down, its a game of cat and mouse and often the mouse wins.
