Hello

I was at 4 way junction and traffic lights which turned solid green. But there was a sign under the traffic light with a right-hand black arrow and red border. ‘ Sign 612’ on google.

Stupidly I turned right and quickly realised my mistake when oncoming traffic from the other side of the road was heading in my direction. Luckily I completed the turn before any further incident.

Wasn’t stopped and can’t see any camera etc on the junction.

Getting conflicting reports online - if caught by camera would this just be a fine or would it be a fine + points on licence.

Cheers

I think in most areas these infractions are decriminalised so if there was a camera the council will send you a fine (no points).

The council where this occurred should have their enforcement policy published if you wanted to check further.

Also tend to believe these are council given fines - you should be able to check with them where they have cameras.

No points either.

It might be worthwhile checking the situation as I remember when I did this in Oxford (well, I thought I turned left when it was not allowed) I am sure I was told councils have 28 days to issue fines, not 14.
