Council PCN for using wrong car on Ringgo.
Discussion
I selected the wrong car on Rinngo and then kept renewing the session.
I got a PCN. Fair play, I messed up.
But I appealed and pointed out that I DID pay. They declined the appeal, saying "yes we can see you paid. But you used the wrong car, so PCN will not be cancelled".
Yes, It's a small sum of money relatively, but it is annoying. They know I paid to park. They are being awkward.
Anyone with any experience of this or do I just pay up?
There is guidance on this around errors in the input of details.
My wife selected the wrong car on a parking app. I appealed using section 17.4 of the following document:
https://www.britishparking.co.uk/write/Documents/A...
It was classed as a major keying event but got the charge reduced to £20.
ETA: if you key one digit wrong (or miss a digit etc.) it is classed as a minor error and the ticket should be cancelled according to the document above.

Wish I had known this when I used one of the parking apps but was in my mum's car and forgot to change the reg. I appealed to North Yorkshire County Council showing them the evidence that I had paid for parking but they just turned round and said 'tough'.It was classed as a major keying event but got the charge reduced to £20.

This site has taken over Pepipo. I used it last month. Very helpful members who pointed me to a copy/paste appeal in my circumstances which worked.
Worth posting on there.

The last couple of times I used the new site, I was pounced upon by several people who thought they were Judge Rinder. They told me that I didn't have a leg to stand on, and quite arrogantly.
So I stood on my apparently supportive leg and did it myself, winning on both occasions.
They then wanted me to post up copies of the letters I had written to win my appeals. Which I didn't provide.

Thank you for your recent online appeal submission.
Following your appeal, we can confirm payment was made for parking, however, the vehicle registration which the payment was made against was AAAAAAA. The vehicle used on this date was BBBBBBB therefore the system was unable to allocate this payment against your vehicle and a Penalty Notice was issued correctly.
As the payment was made for the incorrect vehicle, it was not valid. Moving forward, please ensure that your ticket is purchased for the correct VRM. If for any reason a ticket has been purchased for the incorrect VRM, please purchase a new ticket for the correct VRM and request a refund for the incorrect purchase. If you purchase a ticket online, please call our client's customer support team on xxxxxxx and an agent will be able to amend the VRM for you.
Your appeal has been rejected however we can confirm the balance has been reduced to £20 to reflect that either the incorrect vehicle was selected or a keying error has occurred.
