Battenberg markings are restricted to Police use.
Using words like piloce etc would get you done for impersonating a police officer

Some of these ex police cars seem quite tempting, high mileage but good service record and good value etc, my question is about the livery.

Now I know I can t drive it with the word police but can I drive it with

A , the rest of the livery ie the yellow and blue squares.
B, substitute police for ploice or polcie or polise

Google is telling me nothing concrete
Probably get more info here :-

I bought an ex police Volvo in around 2007, it was dead within around three years. Loved it so much I replaced it with another; dead within another three years.

Wait until it is twenty years old, then stick a dog crate in the back, and some “Working Dogs” or “K9 Unit” stickers for it.

A pool vehicle of any kind can never be good enough value to take the risk, for me. Certainly not from the police.

I'm surprised any are for sale liveried? Typically only seen the absolute breakers like that.

Non-police (i.e. prop, K9 security etc) are a different story.
