Just found out that I've acquired five points and a total of £135 in fines and costs for doin 99.13 on the motorway.

Is there any way to appeal?

If I'd produced my documents at the time I'd only have got 3 points and £60.

Bowl locks.

Maybe, maybe not. The threshold for a CoFP on the motorway is 96mph. Above that and the guidelines say straight to summons.

There is a right to appeal against a conviction at a Magistrates Court (but not if Guilty plea originally entered) or sentence.

Has to be made within 21 clear day of the conviction to Mags Clerks Office of convicting Court.

Obviously grounds are required that do not feature in the orginal post. Speed was such that it was a Court matter irrespective of production of documents and from the result not a bad outcome as a ban was most probable.

I agree. At Magistrates court I was given 6 points, £200 fine and £100 costs. That was for 92 on a dual carriageway with 70 limit.

Compared to that you didnt do too bad as it was...

Unless you are contesting the case totally, I would say that you should stick with what you have, as compared to the average for that speed you have probably got a decent deal!

That's pretty much what I got except my fine was £145. I produced all the docs with the exception of the paper counterpart driving licence which I couldn't find and the system gave me an extra 2 points for it, those computers things are useless.

Sorry that doesn't answer your question but may make you feel better as you got away with less than I did

I'm baffled as to how much the punishment differs!

Surely your personal circumstances cannot be the main reason?

I was told by a motoring legal expert to expect 4 to 5 points and £100 fine for 96mph on a dual carriageway (A14) which is what I got 6 years ago.
