This was on the BBC Radio4 news @ 6pm last night, but i've tried to find this on the world wide interweb but nothing.

All I can remember was a business couple got zapped for speeding, and made up details of a Bosnian driver (or similar) to escape the penalties. Except they got caught out and fined £11k (from memory)

Eeek. I've looked all round the BBC News website and all the local areas but nothing. Can anyone find details? I'd love to read more about it.

Tony :)

Often said on this site, interfering with the course of justice is a very slippery slope.

Add in a persistent copper with a good nose and you are stuffed.

No sympathy from here, PC Beales well done mate!

They are not exactly a menace to society though are they?

So far it has cost them £11,000 and it looks like he could lose his job too. I just don't see how that benefits society.

I must have seen doxens of scrotes giving false info to the police on all the police programs and nothing seems to happen to them when they get sussed.

This guy should have got his points and maybe a an extra few hundred quid added to his fine, I am sure a lot of people here have done similar things and got away with it.

No more so than the scamerati who live off false claims of safety benefits, 2 wrongs don't make a right tho.

Well done that PC Beale...

Read a story few years back about boss of Nokia getting caught speeding in Sweden or Norway one of the two you have to pay percentage of your salary, needless to say it was a good day for the revenue collectors....

ist never a good idea to have fine based on income. It lead to more crime by those who cannot afford to pay big fine as they know it would be smallest amount or none at all.

As for the story - Mad Doc posted Manchester Evening News article und the leader comment on it und what people in queue when he bought paper on Paulie's site. Ist whole story as appear in last night's paper....

He can spell most of the time

Ist also why automated nicking not such a good idea und also these people were nicked by scamera near thie home. Und it prove people should be most careful about telling scammers they desire scam near home
