Got a parking ticket from Group Nexus saying I diudn't pay to park in one of their car parks. However, I did.

I don't have any sort of receipt as it was close to midnight and I was in no mood to be faffing about saving websites etc. System didn't ask for an email or phone number so no sort of receipt was provided.

I have evidence I paid on the date in my bank statement.

What's the current way to play these things?

Appeal as owner of the vehicle. Do not disclose who was driving.

Provide evidence of paying, this will be a copy of your bank statement redacting all other info. You paid for parking so they haven't suffered any loss

Await decision.

If they cancel then great.

If you miskeyed your reg they will offer to reduce it to £20

if they reject your appeal then simply wait for the letter before action before doing anything more

(1) Did the NTK arrive within 14 days. Yes = appeal as RK, No = appeal as RK as not compliant with POFA.

Appeal if you want with your bank statement payment. Or just fk them over and go to (2).

(2) Appeal as others have said as the RK, declining to name the driver. Ask for a POPLA/IPC Code if they refuse.

(3) Do what every chicken st PHer does. Ask for advice, ignore the advice and pay up in full because credit score/court summons/etc. Well done chump you've given them free money for a peaceful life. cluck cluck.

MSE forums is full of good advice in what to do regarding a challenge.

As you have paid, you have evidence and can present that as others have explained.

After a recent letter from Euro Car parks, despite me offering a photo of my payment details on the screen of the digital machine etc my appeal was rejected, I received a Popla code, went through them and they binned it.

These companies try it on, bully threaten harass and cajole, so give them some of it back.

Be interesting to see how the new laws effect these stbags.

The best update to any new law would be for private parking companies to owe you exactly the same amount if they, their machines or cameras mess up. Seeking a false £100 fine? Pay the victim £100 for your error.
