After reading this thread:

I couldn't help but notice the following statement:
Those previously convicted may get fines returned and licence points erased.
Has this ever actually happened? Has any Scamera Partnership had to refund fines, and pay compensation to cover increased insurance costs or even losses due to bans?

2 obvious cases spring to mind:
Swindon and Wiltshire were supposed to be handing back all tickets after Folly Bottom (A303).
Also the london partnership after lower Thames Street.
I've not read or heard anything about what happened afterwards though, ie with refunds for increased hardship...

Yeah, just like North Wales Police when they were caught using 'scanned' signatures on BiB statements given to the Court.
Should have been 6,000 counts of "perverting the course of justice" against CC Brunstom but they simply sent everyone back to Court where we were found guilty again.
Crooks, the lot of them.

Surely the NIP would have to be served again and would have been out of time, case dismissed.

Oh...my single conviction was from A303 - may have been Folly Bottom... How can I check? Am I likely to get a write-off if I haven't been contacted already?
Cheers

Nope, mine was simply sent back to Court for another hearing (lasted all of 10 mins).
AFAIK, the same happened to others. Never heard anything about it in the local papers.

Cheers Puggit! So I'm not 'out of time' then as far as launching an appeal??
