The Truth Wins - the partneship loses!!!!
Discussion
The Advertising Standards Agency have now released the adjudication.
I complained to ASA that the local partnership 'misrepresented the truth' by a poster on a bus showing 4 gravestones = 1 speed camera. The partnership said they hadn't done anything wrong and the poster wasn't misleading. ASA have said that the partnership were WRONG. That the poster was MISLEADING. That their arguments were INCORRECT.
So, ASA have adjudicated in my favour, the partnership are wrong, and must not do it again. See boys, take on this Big Fat F'er and ya gonna lose.
The full adjudication can be found on the ASA website (it's under Non Broadcast Adjudications - West Yorkshire Partnership Casualty Reduction).
P.S. let's be clear on this, it's the lying I object to, not the cameras per se. Without the cameras there wouldn't be anything on here to argue about. We would be left with the current mind numbingly boring post on how to dispose of fag ends, which has to be the most inane and pointless discussion in the history of vehicle related websites.

Well done!
West Yorkshire are one of the worst lot for their spin and lies, so congrats
Classic, how embarrasing, to be advised to contact the CAP Copy Advice team while preparing future advertising. That will really get to them, lets hope they have learnt a valuable lesson here. If they get caught doing it often (if we can catch them at it), it'll work against them, lies do catch you up! Road safety policy is no place for lies and mis-truths to thrum on our heart strings...

We noted the poster was no longer appearing but told WYCRP not to repeat the approach and advised them to contact the CAP Copy Advice team when preparing future similar advertising.

Excellent work and very encouraging that their commercials are subject to the same level of scrutiny as everyone else's. I'm going to revisit the Norfolk Camera Parasites' advertising for lies too.
Interestingly, their website talks about a "myth" that they don't put cameras up unless there have been accidents, then they park on the brand new A11 near Snetterton which was actually a field for the past 4 years! Perhaps I'll complain about that one. I guess the ASA are interested in WEB based commercials too?
