Not really sure what the above was all about but I liked the judge who dispenses his home grown justice.
Bloke who called cop a pig. Made to stand out in street minding a pig holding a big sign, This is NOT a police officer.
Kids who defaced the Nativity scene madeto parade round the streets with a donkey carryinga sign "Sorry for the Jackass behaviour."
and so on, as in embarrass the hell out of the them.

Yup, the lack of shaming people in society is where punishment has fallen down imho. There is a large degree of obscurity now. I don't know if anyone on my street is a petty criminal or otherwise, but if anyone was, it'd be nice to be aware of it somehow. Then they may feel shame for what they do.
If people who commit crimes are known to those they share their community with, then they are much more likely to be scrutinised or such by the locals. This means they are less likely to get away with what they might do again. I assume most criminals get away with what they do because they are faceless to those they target.
However, if the people they live with know what they are like it might change their attitude!
Public stocks would be 10x better than ASBO's and community service imho, rotten fruit provided by supermarkets where the stocks are placed, go to do your shopping and throw some rotten apples at the little f**er who mugged that old woman for her pension. That'd soon stop him, especially for a few hours at this time of year!
These individuals would soon stop being little *****s if you ask me!
