Safe Speed funding appeal
Discussion
Please can we finish up the fund raising appeal?
The initial £15,000 came in very nicely, but now it's really crawling with about £60 a week coming in. The appeal total stands at £18,065. Having started looking for £20,000, it should be fairly easy to raise the last £2k.
It's getting rather embarrassing to have it stuck around with no movement.
If you haven't already contributed, please consider doing so. If you have already contributed, please consider a small further contribution.
I'm working flat out, as you will know. Please help me.

Just a thought, but maybe getting some SS window stickers made up and selling them for a fiver might just get you there - and would also spread the word quite nicely at the same time. I'd have a nice SS roundel alongside the tax disc quite happily.
Yes, I know you can download an image and DIY, but who wants a tatty bit of laser print stuck in the window?

Good idea. (An SS sticker alongside tax disc.) Maybe also a pack of stickers (sticky-backed) for distribution.
Come on people, there must be thousands on here who've not made a donation. Surely we all have enough vested interest to get behind Paul's work? United we stand, and all that?
Don't let Safe Speed fizzle out - his is the loudest and most-feared voice representing the motorists' cause in the fight to end the ludicrous road safety policies we suffer day-in-day-out. The only problem is he's often preaching to the converted (on here for instance) and while he seems to have endless dedication to the cause, he lacks the resource to take his message to a wider audience and step up the fight.
Stickers are an excellent idea though.

You could get some stuff made up there Paul, mugs and coasters would be very good, mousemats etc. Plus, a few of those in a few offices, with a url on each item, and I reckon you'd have more visitors to your site.

Thanks a million for your help and ideas guys.
I'd dearly love to do SafeSpeed merchandising. But I cannot possibly take on a fulfillment operation. The "Tough Shed" type operation is workable, but such companies take the lion's share of any profit generated and it simply isn't a good way to raise cash. Earning a quid from a T shirt is fine when you sell a million, but it's pretty useless when you sell 20 a month.
On the merchandising front what I need is a partner. I provide the customers and the partner runs the service. If anyone wants to run a merchanding operation, please get in touch.
On stickers, there will be some available for free in the new year. Folk will send an SAE so overhead will be minimal.

I think that's a good point, but perhaps at least twenty quid a month is better than nothing and it's getting the logo and advertising out there where people will see it?
I'm off to donate now....
Paul, have yuo seen sites such as www.cafepress.com ? You just upload your logo and any other info and choose which items you want to sell, then you receive kickback.
Paul,,I agree with Victor, a nice SS roundel to go above the tax disc would be a great idea, i`m sure someone in the PH "massive" can get them done at cost or less? And sell them on ALL the different motoring web sites, most petrol heads would buy one, stick them on E-BAY as well with a right up on the excellent work you do
Good luck
