Hi, everyone,
I'm a journalism student currently doing a documentary about speed cameras, we need someone who could tell a story about how speed cameras have ruined or saved your life. If you're interested, please contact me through Email. jennykunming@googlemail.com

Oh, it's a video documentary, and we are in London.

Thank you very much for your help.

Ha, thanks for all the information. I'm trying all kinds of ways to get an interview with a victim or a police officer, if you know any or you are one of them, please let me know.

P.S. Ni is my first name, but instead of shrubberies, if you tell me who to interview, I'll let you pass.

Hi Nii
Speed cameras saved my life! I was a social outcast and unemployable. My only assets were my thick skin and an ability to lie. I was close to suicide, but then I was offered a performance related job with our local Scamership. I am still a social outcast but I am being paid for it, so you can say that speed cameras saved my life. There are quite a few of us now. Smile for the camera....

You'll find this interesting in your studies as to the "effectiveness" of speed cameras:

Longer than an eternity.... but am sure someone will be able to say come along und tell you that they lost job, faced extortionate hikes on insurance premiums - ....und was there not one chap who killed himself because he thought he had 12 points.. Ach ... forget when... sure I read story on here...und also in tabloids but not sure if something else added to his distress..... too....

Apparently 'felling' one,
and flinging into North sea,

is no use as a flotation aid, to those in peril on the sea.

likewise, throwing one into drainage ditch, in vain attempt at creating
Norfolks first man made coral reef, is also a no-no

Ha, Nice one! I'm quite new to this country ( 3 months), and very surprised how people hate speed cameras. Are they really that useless?

When you've lost your driving licence because someone pointed a laser at you, doing 67 in a 60, in the very early hours, you'll understand our gripe with them

I got caught speeding last year. I paid the fine and realise how stupid I was. I always drive at around 10mph underneath the limit in case I am risking my life by just exceeding the limit. I was surprised how many other people agreed with me by getting up really close behind me and following at the same speed. Some even beep their horns in my support.

Im still alive, only because of the speed camera and I feel that the few mph slower I now drive, and the way I was taught is what I have to thank.
