Coming from the M1 into Leeds city centre on the M621 Westbound there is a gantry that you can see in the attached link. On it are 3 CCTV cameras pointing into each lane, each accompanied by a small white box and a black panel that looks almost like a solar panel. The whole setup is illuminated very brightly by halogen/blue lamps.

EDIT: looks nothing like any of the ANPR systems google throws up so i dont think it's that?

Just Checked on the West Yorkshire Safety Camera Site and they are proposing a cash machine on that Junction. Of course the Justification for the cameras is now 4 fours old but thats The Gnome and his friends of limited intelligence for you. They Justified the cameras on the A65 Ilkley Road on the accidents caused by trucks and cars crossing the carriageway to the Yorkshire Water Facility. That was stopped by physically blocking the turn but the Gnome will no doubt take credit for fewer accidents.

definitely not specs, the road angel and tt5 camera overlay both stayed quiet and ive been past it many times at far more than the posted 50mph limit and heard nothing.

I am pretty sure this is connected with the Road Charging scheme for Leeds. There is a similar setup on the A61 parallel to the motorway. They are counting types of vehicles to see how much they can rake in.

Soon I will have to pay £5 per day or more just to go to work. And no tram. Oh joy
