I just got a NIP in the post today 43mph in a 30 zone.
Fair cop and all that, but there for the grace of god go most of us.
I remember seeing on the net a while ago an article about possible get out clauses involving things like the Data Protection Act and camera calibration etc, does anybody out there have any ideas on how to stop the theiving toe-rags from giving me a stuffing.
Thankyou in advance....Tony..

Two options:

Guilty of the offence accept the Conditional Offer,or

Whilst it would seem your honesty in your post may be your downfall you can "play" the system and the hassle it entails, elect a Court hearing and enter a Not Guilty plea and demand disclosure of all the evidence in possession of CPS which may and only may disclose an abnormality which could be doubtful. But if present may give you a lever to upturn the charge. If not you could well be faced with a fine of more than 60 notes PLUS a heafty wack on the CPS Prosecution costs post currently running up here at 45 quid.

The decision is yours....

3rd option

Sling it in the bin, and see what happens.

You may hear nothing else, or (from experience) they'll write to you again.

I know people who have binned NIPs in the past. Subsequently they have heard nothing. I'm talking several years ago, not within the last 6 months. It seems that there are probably too many people incriminating themselves to worry about the occasion lost NIP.
