I think the anti-car/sandalist lobby having failed to curb those pesky car drivers (driving about, earning money for GB plc) have gone for a divide and conquer method. First target: 4x4 drivers. Next target? Who knows.

But today we're expecting Gord to reign in these antisocial polluting (oh, and coincidentally, often rich) individuals with increased car tax.

Question: Define a 4x4?

I'm disappointed by the number of people (often petrolheads) in general conversation who have jumped on this anti-4x4 bandwagon. Don't they realise it might be their sector being discriminated against next?

Totally agree SM.

The crazy thing is in my household the 4*4, (which gets significant off road usage during the winter...) gives the highest mpg of any of the vehicles in the household.

This whole thing is another envy tax to keep the lentlist commie elements of the Labour party happy. Polution/Fuel economy is already taxed by the excise duties on fuel.

Last year when Sian Berry organised a protest outside (iirc) a Landy site in Brum, four people turned up. Cash Brownie thinks he's pushing on an open door with this one after the countryside alliance got their skulls smashed by politicised plod outside westminster.

Land Rover Freelander C02g/km: 205

but:

TVR Tuscan: 405
Porsche Cayman: 254
Lamborghini Gallardo: 450
Lotus Elise 111R: 208
BMW M3: 292
AM Vantage: 406
Ferrari F430: 420
Honda S2000: 237
Mazda RX8: 284
Nissan 350Z: 273

I could go on, but you get the point. Once the greens have taxed the 'dirty' offroaders heavily, which of the 'dirtier' cars are likely to be next on their list?

Nought wrong with that. I think it should be specific car brands thou. Any Porsche, anything French, most BMW's (expect 2002TTi's?), anything japanese, or american, anything which with a 3 pointed star, Ford's (all of them escpecially the Big one's)

I hate them all.

May as well just put up income TAX ! Be alot easier.
