Can't find a link to it, but there's an article in tonight's Evening Standard about a Kengestion Charge van which was given a parking ticket recently.
A keen eyed courier spotted it on one day and asked to see valid proof that the van was legally parked on a single yellow - this was produced. On the second day, the same van was just around the corner from the previous location - but the clever courier remembered that the original exemption did not include the new location.
He tootled off and found a parking attendant (must have taken all of 20secs) and said van was then slapped with a ticket.
There are even pictures

Yes, but if the vehicle is not allowed to be parked there, there must be a reason ... so if you hit it, there 'may' be a justification, no? :clutchingatstraws:
You should always be able to stop in the distance you can see to be clear. A vehicle could be broken down in a no-parking zone, which is still no reason for crashing into it.
