Safety Partnership Motorbike?
Discussion
I passed a fully liveried bike on the A46 today (near Coventry). It looked like a plod bike from a distance but on closer inspection I could see "Safety Camera Partnership" on the side.
Is the bike likely to have had a scamera on board or was he just taking donuts to his mates in the vans?
Does anybody know?
Cheers.

Some SCPs have camera bikes. I think Wiltshire were one of the first and Humberside followed suit. They're probably more widespread now..
Humberside SCP from a year or so ago said:
New Safety Camera Motorbike & Mobile Gatso
Humberside Safety Camera Partnership has launched a specially adapted safety camera motorbike to enforce the speed limit at the regions worst crash sites.
The motorbike is a police standard Honda 1100 Pan-European which is marked up in the police livery. Mike Harris project manager said "The bike can operate at any of the 85 safety camera sites across the region, but will be concentring on the sites where the Partnership has be unable to construct the special enforcement platforms for the mobile vans."
He continued, "Humberside is one of the small number of safety camera partnerships able to use a motorbike for enforcement. We already have three enforcement officers who are trained advanced motorcyclists, so we are able to utilise their skills to the full. The motorbike can be quickly converted back to a normal Police bike if needed to support other police operations."

Havoc,
This was heading into Coventry at the intersection with the A45 he was on the move so I'm not sure where he intended setting up. Keep your eyes peeled, not just for the bike, I have seen scam vans on the bridges over the A46 in the same vicinity.

Warks spent some time last year building sites around coventry for the bike - look out for slabbed bases -about 2m x 1 m on verge with sign "for police motorcycle only" ---especially in villages like Ansty /shilton ( off J2 M6)--SO IT'S PROBABLY TRUE NOW THAT THE WEATHER IS GETTING BETTER (AND FUNDS ARE GETTING A BIT LOW)

Yeah, have seen them on the stoneleigh bridge, and rumours (never seen) about other bridges between Cov and the M40. Be interesting to see where they DO set up, other than those in oldie's link! The one I always used to see them at was on the Fosse Way, facing the n-bound traffic, just shy of the A423 junction...nice fast road, come around a corner, say hi to a f'n SCP van!!!
PS - thanks oldie - main road through Ansty is right where I live, and the speed limit keeps changing along there. Marton is out-of-the-way, but the A423 is a road you can speed on in places...hope they keep it to the town!!!

The Bike is seen around Nuneaton on a regular basis..regularly stopped close to Arbury Hall ..
Thanks - mate - thats my neck of the woods -- although i have seen two like these outside "Alf England" (motorbike shop) in bedworth - daughter (m/b fiend, with a m/biker bf) recons these belong to the shop.
Smiley scamerati mob state arbury road as one of their hit places -so Arbury hall/round towers is a possibility --also where you can start to speed up a bit leading into the 40 limit ( or coming out of it for that matter)
