I have noticed that recently some equipment is being installed by the side of the A5 from Nuneaton to Rugby.
The equipment is mounted atop of a steel pole and there are one or two camera's pointing down onto the road.
On top of the pole is something that looks like a solar panel.
Does anyone know for sure what these things are?
Comments appreciated.

We have some on the A616 near Langsett - just more monitoring as far as I can tell. If not its a brown envelope for many peeps!

Who watches the watchers though...

They are pushing like hell to have the whole country covered by ANPR cameras/equipment and brought live very shortly and operative 24/7. All number plates to be recorded and STORED for 7 years.

Could be?

North Yorks to have four fixed sites.

Open Crim Uni at E Block, HMP Durham arranging all locations to be flagged so that they can be circumvented if you get what I mean. Courses fully booked at the moment.

Thanks DVD.
I personally haven't got a problem with ANPR. If it helps detect license dodgers etc then I'm all for it.
P.S. I Like the humour!!

Shares in paintball gun manufacturers to soar one wonders?

In a similar vein, who is the IT equipment provider and installer?

Still no update from DVLA or plod about the one-third inaccurate reg's on the database - DVLA's own admission. Must cause a few problems.
