What are the cameras in the back of Police Vans

Was trundling along in traffic the other night in a hired transit, when I spotted a Plod van parked in the middle of the road. When I got closer I think I saw a Plod in the back with a camera. Is this a speed camera or APNR?? I think I was doing around 35 or so in a 30 and did hit the brakes, so have I been done? It was a standard police van with the riot shields over the windows, not a saftey camera partnership van.

I'll be annoyed if I have as if I'm going to get done' I'd rather do it in the TVR, a
nd I'll get charged for doing it in the van!

The ANPR van's I've seen have what look to me like 2 cameras looking out of the rear door windows. There are usually a few coppers with bikes further down the road waiting to pull miscreants over

As it was in the night I would presume that you came across a CCTV monitor van for keeping a eye on the drunks etc.
