These Police Warnings About No Tax

Came back to my car at dinner time to find a red sticker on my windcsreen informing me that they are aware my car is not taxed and that I was being reported to the DVLA Turns out my tax disc had fallen off the windscreen and landed upside down.

But surely the police just do a check?

Anyway, do I need to do anything, like contact the DVLA or Police?

If DVLA records are accurate in your case (probablity approx 0.6) then you'll be fine - although you're quite lucky plod didn't want to be arsey 'cause you could have been done for failure to display.

Yep it should all check out as I taxed it online and they sent me the disc.

That's the only notice I received, didn't get one for failure to display.
