Heard about a crash on the radio this morning 'involving 2 cars' on the M4 west just under the M25.

As I passed it there was a Trafpol Estate car with a scrunched up front end.

Hope it was no one on here! Any info on this?

Couldn't possibly have been an innocent victim of somebody else's accident while attempting to apprehend a dangerous criminal or bravely securing the safety of an innocent member of the public then...?

Ok, I admit, I was stirring...but don't we all have to look to avoid potential hazards?
I'll await the full, honest and public disclosure of the facts before jumping to a conclusion...but I won't hold my breath. []

When I was pulled by the BiB on the M4 a couple of weeks back, the officer said to me that as I change lanes I'd been too close to the vehicle in front.

Kettle. Pot.

What has your experience got to do with what happened in this separate incident this morning? Did you see the incident this morning? Have you spoken to a relaible witness? How do you know that the incident today has anything to do with "changing lanes too close to the vehicle in front"?

Are`nt the majority of accidents caused by the person involved driving too fast for the conditions.
If you are doing 29mph in a 30 zone and a kid runs out and you hit them then obviously at a slower speed you might not have hit them.

Result being "driving too fast for the conditions".

You can be driving at 4mph and if someone runs directly out in front of you without any warning you will hit them as no matter how slow you simply don't have time to react .......

"driving too fast for conditions" or "observing too poorly for the speed and conditions"?

Hey calm down, i`m agreeing with him.
The thread makes more sense if you read it from the beginning.
I think he made the comment because the BiB usually say that to Joe Public when they have an "incident" so now the boot is on the other foot he was being humourous, unfortunatly some people don`t have a SOH, and i`m not talking about you when i say that.

Honest.

I do think there were some pretty petty remarks on here. At the end of the day none of us know the facts so we shouldnt really criticise until the details come out.

By all means we can then gloat if it was their fault

True, we don't know who was to blame, but there aren't many insurance companies out there who would accept you weren't to blame if the front is smacked in from a motorway crash. But we don't know for sure.

I guess nobody has heatd anything then?
Whats the chances of plodding telling me the details if i pop in a FOI request?

Slim to nil methinks. I was only trying to make the point that anyone who crashes on a motorway is often seen as having driven carelessly or recklessly...not trying to pick a fight or criticise many of the great bib's on here! *Accidents* happen (tho your insurer won't admit it!)
