Having sent in my pace letters " speeding offences on same road within 4mins. I have got a letter back that says they cannot find any justification in discontinuing the case and saying that i am at liberty to go to court. But it dosnt say who is giong to court. The NIP was also returned. Any advice would be greatly recieved.

Isn't this two separate matters - the implication is you have a 'same occurrence offence' consideration for two violations on the same stretch of road only 4 mins apart, which in the past has been accepted though in Court usually, while the PACE letter thing looks like they believe they can continue and are doing so. Do you have any legal advice / representation lined up?

I am confusing peopple i sent in 2 pace letters in reply to thier 2 NIPS another long day at work. I havnt had time to see a legal eagle. can i stall them by asking for photo/video evidence till i have a day off to see one. Or as time is running out wuold it be best to swallow pride a plead guilty. By the way i was flashed at 36 and 39 in a unsign posted zone.

If you sent PACE letters why not wait and see if they do issue you with a summons? If they don't you're free and clear, if they do visit Pepipoo (again?) with the docs and get further advice.

Surely if you can prove you never went BELOW 30 between the two cameras then it is one speeding offence? Surely being prosecuted for the same offene twice is not allowed under UK law?

Does this help

If you do argue that you didn't drop below 30 between the offences, then the mags will be less likely to see it as an accidental temporary transgression.

But would the CPS run with it as 2 separate offences if it occurred on the same road, in the same direction, all within 2 miles/4 mins? One might think it would be possible for a good solicitor to 'do a deal' with the CPS and have it treated as 1 FPN rather than take it to court and risk one of the offences resulting in a not guilty verdict for one of the cases (can't be tried for the same offence twice) with costs applied against them for that case.

Although I was being flippent, this is actually a very good point...

When does one continued speeding offence become multiple?

If BiB followed you for 10 miles they would only prosecute you once, surely...OK maybe for careless driving as well, but if one sailed through 4 scams it could be licence gone in one go???
