Withdrawing driving licences seems to be increasingly used for 'offences' not in any way related to driving. Yet more nonsense from this government.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

And still can't work out how possibly stopping someone from working can make him pay maintenance he'll be less able to afford???????

Or, increasingly these days, be able to travel to fulfill what the Courts' now see as the childrens' right of access to the parent.

Yes, it is a punishment within the realms of "justice". I suppose the principal behind it is that if you don't have your car you will lose your job and all your money, so this is an incentive to make you pay.

Don't know if anyone has tried to take it Strasbourg yet at all, as the punishment is unrelated to the crime.

Dont know much about it myself, but would it not be a case of "if all else fails", if someone is skint and cant pay, no point in taking away his licence, howeve if he is minted, and just wont pay, well maybe its used there, dont know, just a guess.

Have a nice day

But, remove the license and most people can't work. Then he will be on the dole, and STILL not able to pay for the kids... Great idea eh??

Also, as I said, why remove his car license for an "offence" which is not motoring related? What has his car got to do with those things? Why not get a 3rd Party Debt order on his bank account ?!?!??!!?!?

In the US, a lot of people like builders, electricians etc, need permits to work in many States. They've been withdrawing those from people who don't make child support payments.
