This is my problem, we've got an unmetaled road which leads to our garags (me and my 5 neighbours) and is communial between us. It's wide enough enough to park 1 car and for another to get by. But it's also foot access to a football field and a OAP club. Every now and again one parks along there (despite a big 'No Parking in roadway' sign at the entrance) and then others park there and it becomes un-passable. It came to a head 8 years ago (before my time)when a neighbour asked them to move so she could get her car out. They told her to F*** off, which didn't go down well as she needed the car to get to her dad in A&E with a stroke. My neigbours and I have become jobs-worths about the footballers, OAPs and other neighbours parking there. They were going to get a gate put up but the council stopped them due to emergency services access.
Well now a new neighbour (a renting eastern european couple) have started parking there. After a few gentle chats they carried on. We eventually got our local BIB to tell him that we could tow him (but the bobby told us he couldn't do anything about it because it's a civil matter). I may try Bollards but in the meantime, Who knows about the laws... How do we go about getting him towed?

I'm interested in the towing away bit....

AFAIK, for a driveway, you can't do anything if somone blocks you from using it, only if the obstruct you from trying to get out.

After "Police Camera Action" last night could it be worth suggesting to BIB they may be uninsured/unlicensed.

Nice to see some dodgers getting what they deserved on that show instead of the speeding motorists.

Employ a clamping firm? As much as I hate these cowboys, they'd soon fix your problem - and make a little cash too

You can't clamp them yourself anymore, you need a license.

BUT, you can stick up a Parking Here = Clamped sign. Then call a licensed clamper company who AFAIK can them come along and do the job for you.........They get the release fee, but my word do you get the grin factor.

Did i ever tell you about the time i went to a "Funday" in Fleetwood (honest) and put my own clamp on my classic car, when i came back there was`nt another car parked in the same street, i think evrybody had returned to there cars and thought "Christ hes been unlucky quick lets p155 off before they come back with some more clamps.

So why don`t you put an official looking sign up saying "Clamping in this area" then fit clamps to some, if not all your cars especially on football days.

Only a idiot would park in a area were some car appear to have been clamped.

Result.......

On a slight tangent; if a company clamps your car on private land (having correctly signposted it) and you manage to remove the clamp without damaging it, could they still make you liable for payment?
