Toyota Prius Police Cars

Spotted 2 recently Old Kent Road and Lewisham. Plain silver, only markings are on front doors. Metropolitan Police, working for a safer London sticker. Both times cars were in the usual rush hour traffic, otherwise I would of blatted past on motorbike. Sort of car you disregard. Obviously not traffic police but add these to your mental list of Omegas, Passets, BMW5s etc that don’t drive like the rest of us.

They are for the Mets "Safer Neighbourhood Patrols"; dedicated team of 1 Sargeant,2 PCs and 2 PCSOs; in the old days they were called Home Beats

They have no blues and twos, they're just for pootling around in. Very nice to drive actually. Wouldn't dream of buying one but they do the job!

Funny that this should come up as I was thinking to myself while pootling back from work in the Ovlov the other day - in fuel saver mode so was getting overtaken by virtually everything on the M5 - I can't ever remember being overtaken anywhere by a Prius!
