Not got your road tax reminder?
Discussion
The DVLA seem to be saying 60,000 of the reminders got "lost in the post" this month
Now the only common point for these items of mail are going to be from the DVLA to the nearest sorting office so it seems pretty unlikely. The GF and I think they simply screwed the computer run up for June and it didn't complete.
If you're even remotely interested, what letter does your surname begin with and did you get a reminder?
Me & the GF are both B and we both got one but we think anyone later in the alphabet didn't.

Oh, and this might act as a reminder to anyone who was relying on a reminder and hasn't had one yet.
I'm with Bliarout on this.
How do ou know how many got lost in the post? You only know somethings got lost because the recipient who is expecting it rings up and say "Oi git!" or something to that effect.
So are they saying that 60,000 people have rung up, in which case the true number lost is really .....
Or is the Post Office saying that they have lost X bags of mail which contained 60,000 reminders .....
Don't forget that on the back of the reminder is the text which says to the effect "if this is delivered incorrectly ffs don't tell us as we don't want to know being the incompetent Welsh muppets ( TM Anne Robinson) that we are.....
And of the alleged 60,000 who failed to get reminders bet they don't screw up sending out any of the £80 love letters going out in two months.
and breathe....

Thanks FiF
Just strikes me as odd that 60,000 items can go "missing in the post", it's just too convenient. What else went missing at the same time? I have a naturally suspicious nature.
The only place they could all have been lost is between the DVLA and the sorting office. Once they are there they will be routed to different destinations so they couldn't all get lost at any point after that.
Mind you, the speed those red lorries go at I suppose one could have inadvertently entered a time warp!

I'm with FiF here, how could the dvla know that something they had posted had gone missing?I suspect the DVLA has cocked up.
Not sure of the reasons but apparently it caused aboslute chaos in the Co-op, they were queueing right back to the doors. Now if they employed a few more staff etc...

Apparently the DVLA are still telling people to fill in a V10, but the Post Office can't tax your car on a V10 as they have gone over to the new DVLA bar-coding system which uses your new style V5C. They had to send a few people away as they didn't have the new style V5C's and you can only tax your car on an old V5 if you go to your local DVLA offices.
It's bloomin handy having an insider at times
