Someone has dumped a white golf on my street. 2 weeks ago, i saw 4 people park, have a big argument in the street, and then walk away from it.

Its not locked, its clearly had a crash recently, there is no road tax, and there's no parking permit.

In that 2 weeks, 5 other cars have had tckets put on them, 2 of them clamped, yet this golf has not been touched. Phoned the police who said phone the council, who said phone the police. Theres not even been one of those 'Police Aware' signs.

So, how do i get rid?

Isn't the accepted wisdom to remove the petrol cap, and then it is a fire risk, and will be removed for you?

But does open the risk of 'fire risk' becoming 'fire' if its not taken quickly enough

is it unlocked? or can you get in any other way? just get in it and roll it into the road so its causing a nuisance. itll get towed in 30 mins flat.

Step 1, Claim it as your property, there is a thread on here somewhere with more info
Step 2 Prep it and scrap it
Step 3....
Step 4 Profit.

Round my way the DVLA have clamping and towing teams to deal with untaxed motors on the street. Maybe give your local DVLA office a call and see if they can deal with it for you?

That's interesting, does it mean they're deliberately avoiding cars where it seems they might not get paid for clamping/towing? I suppose it makes sense from their point of view, but it does make you wonder if owners of more expensive cars are going to get picked on because they're more likely to pay?

Why not phone the council pointing out that "young" children have been playing on the abandoned car and you are worried that one of them might get hurt. If the council think they could be sued by an angry parent because little timmy lost an eye playing on it they will be quick to act....
