Info on new Cameras placements?

[sneakypete]

Where would I find out about planned cameras in my local area? Does this public safety information exist?

There is a suspicious looking pole been erected on a stretch of road that I use on my way in to work. Hopefully – and thank the lord – it's a camera coz I feel the protective bubble of safeness already...!

I know I will find out soon enough, but it got me thinking about how these decisions are made and if the public could actually campaign for cameras placed in certain areas. Surly that's better?

I'm in Norfolk.

You could try the Norfolk Safety Camera Partnership website but not sure they put on planned cameras only current: www.norfolk-safety-camera.org.uk/

Hope that helps

I think you have to trawl the minutes of your local council planning meetings, as speed cameras have to have planning permission, IIRC. Also go through the routine minutes as they will probably be discussed at main meetings.

Well, I would imagine they'll do what they always do ; sit on straight dualled bits of the A11, A140 and A47.
