Halfords Road Angel Advert (TV)
Discussion
Does this advert on TV at the moment wind anyone else up, or is it just me?
They are advertising the new Road Angel and the voiceover goes along the lines of.....
"And at the touch of a button it lets you know what the maximum safe speed for the road is....."
NO IT DOESN'T !!! It tells you the maximum LEGAL speed for the road.
Safe is not necessarily legal, and legal is not always safe !!!
Methinks a complaint is due (If I can be bothered).
Rant over......

What's the problem ?
The Government tell us that speeding kills.
Therefore you can drive like a complete t
t and you will never be caught by a camera as long as not speeding, so therefore the complete t
t driver must be safe, the advertisement is therefore correct !shuvitupya said:

I was going to rant about this too. It's, I guess, simply misinformed rather than deliberately misleading but annoying anyway.

Don't they also say something along the lines of "at the touch of a button the screen identifies camera placement known as accident blackspots" or similar. Isn't this due to be outlawed soon?
Nope - this is POI (point of interest) based warning not real-time detection of scameas (mobile or otherwise). It's the detection that they're trying to outlaw.
